Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

Boots on the Ground Forest Services, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates bootsonthegroundforestry.com (the "Site"). This page explains what information we collect when you visit the Site or contact us, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

If you fill out our contact form or email us directly, we collect the information you provide. Our contact form asks for:

  • Your name
  • Email address
  • Phone number (optional)
  • Property location
  • Approximate acreage (optional)
  • A description of the project you'd like help with

You can choose not to provide optional fields. Required fields are marked on the form. If you email or call us, we receive whatever information you include in that message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, some information is collected automatically:

  • Server logs. Our host records basic request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps) for a short period so the Site can run reliably and we can defend against abuse.
  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the Site β€” for example, which pages are most visited and which search terms bring people here. Google Analytics uses cookies and processes your IP address. IP addresses are anonymized before they reach our account.
  • Anti-spam. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots. Turnstile may read limited signals from your browser (cookies, user-agent, timing) to make that determination.

2. How we use the information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and schedule a consultation if appropriate
  • Carry out the forestry work you've hired us for
  • Keep business records (invoices, project history, tax filings)
  • Operate, secure, and improve the Site
  • Comply with applicable law

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.

3. Who we share information with

We rely on a small number of reputable service providers to run the Site and respond to inquiries. These providers only see the data they need to provide their service:

  • Vercel β€” hosts the Site and receives normal web request data.
  • Resend β€” delivers the contact form to our inbox and sends you a confirmation email.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile β€” anti-spam check on the contact form.
  • Google Workspace (Gmail) β€” receives and stores the emails we send and receive, including contact form submissions.
  • Google Analytics 4 β€” aggregate website analytics.

We may also share information if we're required to by law (for example, a valid subpoena) or if it's necessary to protect our rights, safety, or the safety of others.

4. How long we keep information

  • Contact form submissions and email: kept as long as needed to respond and for ordinary business record-keeping β€” generally up to two years after our last contact, or longer if required by law or a specific project file.
  • Analytics data: retained for up to 14 months (Google Analytics default), after which it's automatically deleted.
  • Server logs: retained by our host for approximately 30 days.

5. Your choices

You can:

  • Ask what we have. Email us and we'll tell you what information we have about you.
  • Ask us to delete it. We'll delete what we can, subject to records we're legally required to retain (for example, tax records).
  • Ask us to correct it. If something we have is wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Opt out of analytics. You can install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop Google Analytics from tracking you across any site that uses it.

To make any of these requests, email info@bootsonthegroundforestry.com.

6. Cookies

The Site uses a small number of cookies: functional cookies that make basic features work, analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, and anti-spam cookies set by Cloudflare Turnstile. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings; some features of the Site may stop working correctly if you do.

7. Children

The Site is intended for landowners and other adults considering forestry services. We don't direct the Site at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold β€” the Site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are transmitted encrypted, and we limit access to our inbox. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we treat your information with care.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site, our services, or applicable law change. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be called out here so returning visitors can see what changed.

10. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States.
