Timber Harvesting

Low-impact timber harvesting for foresters and landowners.

We tread lightly at Boots on the Ground. Our timber harvests focus on thinning for forest resilience, fire, and ecological health, while also getting marketable timber to the mill.

Our harvests utilize a chainsaw and a Deutz-Fahr 5110 G tractor with a 13,000lb Tajfun winch and a front-mounted hydraulic log grapple. This combination of lightweight equipment means that we operate with much lower impact to the soil than traditional harvest equipment. It also means that we can get to small acreage parcels and sensitive areas that would otherwise be cost-prohibitive for the landowner.

This makes us well suited for harvests between .5 to 50 acres, particularly in more complex silvicultural systems such as selection harvests and late-entry thinning.
